As the Flowers Of Hell, we’ve now expanded into a 16 piece trans-Atlantic space rock orchestra that’s half based in London, and half in Toronto. On our new record Come Hell Or High Water we worked with folk from Spacemen 3/Spiritualized, the Patti Smith Group, Broken Social Scene, British Sea Power & plenty of others. The recordings involved pulling together 30 musicians in over 40 sessions in London, Toronto, Prague, Detroit, & Abilene Texas, all produced on a laptop while sofa surfing. Now it’s all about our live show - after catching us in London a couple times, Kevin Shields had us open for My Bloody Valentine last fall, so our current set kicked off with a fine start! Mind you, the news that’s pleased us the most is NASA’s mission control staff getting into our symphonic space rock and synching one of our tracks to their footage of the recent Discovery mission in a video that went viral around the Kennedy Space Center. The album is available on CD now and will available on vinyl shortly from www.sonicunyonstore.com .
